Children's Hospital Book & Underwear Donation

In recent happenings, the Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. Foundation was able to contribute a donation of over 700 new pairs of children’s underpants for use throughout the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. This underpants drive was inspired by one of Nicholas’ nurses in the hospital. They stated that there was a need for kids who would have “accidents” while in the hospital. The underpants are given to the families so their child doesn’t have be sent home in a sheet or standard-issue hospital gear.

Ashley Wunderlich - University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, Child Family Life Department:

[The Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O Foundation was] able to collect over 700 pairs of underwear, which is unbelievable. I wish parents could have seen the face of everyone in our department when they saw the carts full. You would think there was a million dollars sitting on the carts. We are so grateful for their continued support and appreciate all their efforts it took to take in this large donation; we could not be more thrilled!!

Also pictured, is a children’s book donation made possible by Principle Mary Kay Rowan and her school Saint Jon School of Little Canada.

There were many local individuals that helped make this possible, including the mall management team at Crossroads Center.
